The benefits of spirulina
Do you feel persistently tired? Are you looking to improve your athletic performance or simply to address dietary deficiencies without resorting to chemical supplements?

Find out why the Organic artisanal spirulina AKAL is the essential health partner for your daily life.

Akal Spirulina: Artisan Quality
Grown with passion on our Norman farm, our organic French spirulina is the result of artisanal know-how and a deep ecological commitment.
A Natural Nutritional Powerhouse

The benefits of spirulina are numerous: however, they can be summarised as follows: it nourishes, it strengthens and it detoxifies.
Unlike synthetic vitamins, spirulina offers a synergy of nutrients that the body perfectly assimilates (bioavailability).
Here's what's in a teaspoon of our twigs (3 to 5g):
- Plant Proteins (60-70%): It contains all eight essential amino acids. It has more protein than beef (20%) or soya, making it a great choice for vegetarians and vegans.
- Highly Assimilable Iron Spirulina is rich in iron, but most importantly, it does not contain the inhibitors (phytates) found in teas or cereals that prevent its absorption.
- Rich in Vitamins Notably B1, B6 and B12 (essential for the nervous system). Its vitamin K content aids blood clotting. It's antioxidant thanks to its richness in vitamin E (as much as in wheat germ).
- Beta-carotene: 15 times more than in carrots (a precursor to Vitamin A, excellent for skin and eyesight).
- Alkaline, its high pH counteracts intestinal acidity and makes it preventive.

Phycocyanin: The Blue Treasure of Spirulina
It is the pigment that gives spirulina its blue-green colour, but it is above all its most valuable component. Phycocyanin is a powerful immune system stimulant and an antioxidant capable of fighting oxidative stress.
In our Normandy artisanal farm, thanks to a gentle drying process (under 42°C), we preserve a phycocyanin content greater than 20%, where industrial spirulina dried at high temperature (spray-dried) loses a large part of it.
