Summer wrap

Fresh spirulina and summer vegetable wrap

A fresh spirulina and summer vegetable wrap, light and delicious for your summer picnics. The extra touch in this recipe is the spirulina spread for your wrap. Its smooth and creamy texture pairs wonderfully with pan-fried summer vegetables.

We used the tartare of fresh spirulina for this Summer wrap, our Homemade recipe prepared on our farm. First, we put in the 3 roots Pickled garlic, onion and ginger in the Vinegar of cider and Lemon juice. Then, we add the fresh spirulina that has just been harvested with good organic oils cold-pressed. Mix olive oil (1/3) and rapeseed oil (2/3) for a good balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6. This preparation is available at the farm and at local markets. If you are not local, you can use the dried spirulina powder With the same ingredients, it works too 🙂 And if you’re feeling lazy, just add a tablespoon of dried spirulina powder to your fresh goat cheese and that’ll do the trick!

Next, spread the mixture. Goat spirit on the wrap and spread your Summer vegetables. We have chosen the red pepper, as it boosts your tan and the Courgette, the must-have of summer markets and so simple to grow in the garden. Shoots of’spinach to complete the freshness and raw element that we so desperately need. We pan-fried our summer vegetables in a little ghee, clarified butter, which we adore. It's a very sattvic food for Ayurveda aficionados 😉 All impurities are removed from the butter, particularly casein, by heating it over a very low heat. This results in a golden liquid that resembles liquid gold, completely transparent. For example, Indians use it daily to cook their food. It aids our digestion and nourishes our body tissues deeply. You can also roast your vegetables in the oven for 15 minutes. Your recipe for Summer wrap will also be delicious!

Spirulina and summer vegetables wrap

This recipe is suitable for young and old alike! The wrap is rolled up and eaten like a Sandwich. I make them regularly for my 2-year-old daughter, who can eat them independently and who loooves the goat cheese-spirulina mix. Little ones are very attracted by the proteins and are sensitive to those of spirulina (see our Guide for spirulina and children) which help them build their bodies and their immune defences.

I hope you'll like the Summer Wrap because it is:

  • full of Good nutrients and protein
  • very digestible
  • Quick and Easy to do
  • light and Gourmet !

Notes

Fresh spirulina tartare is a preparation we make on our spirulina farm in Normandy. It is sold directly only, on-site and at local markets. For those of you not living in Normandy, while waiting for a visit to the farm, you can mix powdered spirulina with fresh goat's cheese and get the spirulina effect 😉
