Organic French spirulina in twigs: dried below 42°C.
What is French Spirulina Flakes — and why isn’t it ordinary spirulina?
Since 2009, Sat Pavan has been cultivating spirulina at the Bouquetot eco-estate.
But he also did something else, less visible and just as important: he trained other French producers in his method.
Around ten artisanal farms have benefited from his expertise – drying below 42°C, the care taken with each harvest, the demands of a spirulina that truly deserves to be called artisanal.
These partner farms today share the same values and processes. They are certified organic. They produce high-quality French spirulina.
French Spirulina in Sprigs – the Frenchie in sprigs – is the fruit of this transmission of knowledge.
What she does — and what she doesn't do
What she's doing
To provide all the nutrients of artisanal spirulina in a sprinkleable, no-preparation format
– Support energy, immunity, recovery and beauty with regular treatment
– To integrate naturally into daily meals, on any solid dish
What she doesn't do
– Reproducing the biodynamic terroir of the Bouquetot eco-estate – it's the Fleur de Spiru that carries this uniqueness
– Easily dissolves in liquids — for drinks and smoothies, Frenchie Powder is best suited
– Act within a few days — a 3 to 4 week course is necessary for lasting effects
The 5 benefits — and for whom
Energy and combating underlying fatigue
The iron in spirulina, which is particularly well absorbed by the body – without the inhibitors present in cereals and legumes – supports red blood cell formation and helps alleviate chronic fatigue. Sprinkled on a lemony salad, the strands naturally combine iron and vitamin C. Or add them to your morning cereal with freshly squeezed orange juice.
Ideal profile: Individuals prone to chronic fatigue, women during menstruation, vegetarians and vegans lacking bioavailable iron sources, people in recovery.
2. Strengthened immunity before winter
Phycocyanin – preserved by drying below 42°C – and beta-carotene, 15 times more concentrated than in carrots, support the body's natural defences. A 3 to 4-week course in September-October, at a rate of one teaspoon per day with meals, helps the body face winter with greater resistance.
Ideal profile: people often weakened in autumn, families with young children, individuals recovering from illness or a period of intense stress.
3. Complete plant-based protein for athletes and vegetarians
With 60–70% complete plant protein, spirulina provides all the essential amino acids. At 1 to 2 tablespoons per meal (5 to 10g), spirulina supports muscle recovery after exercise and endurance during training. Three times more protein than beef — in a food you can simply sprinkle over your salad.
Ideal profile: Vegetarians and vegans looking for complete proteins, athletes in training or recovery, people wanting to reduce their animal protein intake without deficiency.
4. Radiance of skin, hair and nails
Zinc, B vitamins and antioxidant active ingredients support keratin synthesis and skin health. In regular courses of 4 to 6 weeks, our customers report visible effects on hair strength, nail solidity and skin radiance. The crispy texture of the twigs naturally lends itself to everyday dishes – without even thinking about it.
Ideal profile: People with dull complexions or weakened hair, post-pregnancy profiles, individuals whose skin reflects a nutritional imbalance.
5. Natural satiety before meals
Taken 30 minutes before a meal — one teaspoon with a large glass of water — the protein density of the twigs creates an early feeling of fullness. A natural way to reduce portion sizes without frustration, without otherwise changing your eating habits.
Ideal profile: people looking to naturally reduce their portion sizes, those transitioning their diet, and anyone who snacks out of habit rather than genuine hunger.
How to consume French Spirulina twigs?
The great strength of sprigs: they are sprinkled directly onto any solid dish, without preparation, without complex measuring. A teaspoon on your lunchtime salad – done, and eaten.
Start with one teaspoon a day for the first week to get your body used to it, then gradually increase to your target dose.
The golden rule: never heat above 40°C. If you're adding them to a hot dish, wait for the temperature to drop before sprinkling. To avoid at the same time: tea and coffee, as they inhibit iron absorption.
Everyday uses
Vinaigrette with lemon — the classic, crisp texture, synergy of iron + natural vitamin C
Morning cereal or granola — sprinkled directly into the bowl
Plain yogurt + honey — slightly crisp texture, subtle umami taste
Avocado toast + cress + sea salt. Scrambled eggs or omelette – added at the end of cooking, off the heat.
Rice, pasta, quinoa — sprinkled on at serving time Warm soup — added to the bowl once the temperature has come down

Treatment protocol — what happens week by week
Week 1
One teaspoon a day on salad, in cereal, or on yogurt. The body discovers spirulina. Most people don't perceive a marked effect yet. This is normal – the process is starting.
Weeks 2 and 3
The dose increases to 1 to 2 teaspoons depending on the objective. Background fatigue begins to ease. Athletes notice a slightly improved recovery between sessions.
Week 4
The effects on energy levels have taken hold. For those completing a full and regular course, the first effects on skin tone and hair become noticeable. Immunity has gradually strengthened throughout the duration.
A month of treatment is the minimum to anchor the effects in depth.
The 100g box at 3g/day covers this cycle exactly.
The 200g avoids having to ration.
The 1kg is the format for the committed.
Precautions for use
– Contraindicated in case of haemochromatosis
– Ongoing medical treatment: ask your doctor for advice before starting
– Never heat above 40°C
– Avoid consuming at the same time as tea or coffee
- Pregnant women: spirulina is rich in iron and folic acid – ask your doctor's advice for a suitable dosage
– Store away from light and moisture, in a box or bag tightly closed

The recommended synergies
🌿 Twigs Frenchie + Potion TONIC — the synergy of energy and assimilation

Twigs in meals for foundational nutritional intake. 10ml of Phycocyanin in your juice in the morning for cell protection and immunity. The two active ingredients reinforce each other – the combination our most regular customers rave about.
🌱 Twigs Frenchie + Powder Frenchie — the versatile duo
Twigs to sprinkle on all solid dishes. Powder for drinks and liquid preparations. The same artisanal French spirulina, in two complementary forms, for a presence at all times of the day.
🛡 Frenchie Twigs + IMMUNITY Potion — the natural immunity synergy

What is the difference between Frenchie Twigs and Fleur de Spiru Twigs?
The material and the process are very close — same drying below 42°C, same crispy texture, same mild umami taste. The difference lies in the origin: Fleur de Spiru comes exclusively from the Akal farm in Bouquetot, cultivated in biodynamics and sensitive permaculture. Les Brindilles Frenchie come from partner farms trained by Akal — same know-how, permanent availability.
Why do Akal twigs not have a strong smell?
Because they are dried below 42°C. Above 100°C — the standard industrial process — spirulina generates sulfur compounds responsible for the strong odour and unpleasant taste. Below 42°C, these compounds are not formed. The result: a light, sea-like odour and a mild umami taste — spirulina that you want to eat, not gulp down.
What's the difference between Frenchie Twigs and Frenchie Powder?
The raw material is identical – the same French spirulina, the same drying process. The twigs are the purest form, ideal for sprinkling on solid dishes with their crunchy texture. The powder is stone-ground to disperse instantly in liquids. It’s all about usage: twigs for plates, powder for glasses.
From when do we feel the effects?
The first signs generally appear towards the end of the first week – an increase in energy, a slight improvement in digestion for some individuals. For lasting effects on immunity, recovery and skin tone, a course of at least 4 weeks is necessary.
Can we give this to children?
Yes, from 3 years old, in small doses – a pinch on meals. The crunchy texture and mild umami flavour generally go down well with cereal or on yogurt. Adjust the dose gradually according to age and weight.
Is the 1kg format really worth it?
The 1kg pack is for customers who have integrated spirulina into their daily routine and no longer want to worry about running out. At 3g/day, it lasts nearly 10 months. At 5g/day, it lasts over 6 months. It's also the most economical pack per gram – and free delivery is included from the start.
How to store spirulina flakes?
Store in the dark and away from moisture, in a tightly sealed box or sachet. Do not store near a heat source. Consume preferably within 12 months of opening.
